Motion in Place Launch Workshop 2011

7th-9th July, Attenborough Centre Creativity Zone, University of Sussex

The University of Sussex interdisciplinary workshop will explore applications of motion capture in Arts and Humanities research, as part of the Arts & Humanities Research Council (www.ahrc.ac.uk) funded Motion in Place Platform (MiPP) Project (www.motioninplace.org). The event will allow experience and interests to be shared across digital development sectors that are nurturing interdisciplinary research.

Our 2011 Motion in Place Platform workshop combines review of outputs and reflection produced over the past year by the Sussex-led MiPP team, with presentations by practitioners and theorists whose research involves motion capture and related digital sensing technologies from a wide range of perspectives (including visualisation, sound, choreography and dance, installations and environments, archaeology and heritage, games).
