Arco ARCO was a research project, funded by the European Union, aimed at developing technology for museums to create 3D Virtual Exhibitions on the Web. Virtual exhibitions were created by digitising museum artefacts, which were then transformed into Virtual Representations, which can be X3D or VRML models or scenes.

Emove
Accurate Motion Capture for the Consumer. The eMove project is a Technology Strategy Board Creative Industries: Digital Technologies research collaboration project between Animazoo UK and the University of Sussex: Centre for Computer Graphics. The focus of eMove is to develop an upper body inertial Personal Motion Capture System for online consumer level and other markets including, but not limited to: online live animation systems, online gaming such as MMO-FPS, MMO-RTS, MMO-RPG, and one-on-one gaming, online advertising, theme parks, education … and so on.

A City in Transition: Silchester Insula IX
The Silchester Town Life Project is an ongoing research and training excavation exploring one part (Insula IX) of the large Roman town at Silchester from its origins before the Roman Conquest to its abandonment in the 5th century A.D.

A large black box space that can support projects requiring motion capture or tracking, stereoscopic projection, or large installation space. Conferences and symposia have also been held in this space. It seats about 80 people comfortably.

Motion capture and tracking is made possible with a 20 camera Vicon system. The capture volume is 25ft by 30ft. Facial motion capture is also possible with a custom rig. Real-time motion tracking can be achieved by connecting the Vicon Tarsus data stream with applications such as Max/MSP/Jitter and Virtools. Stereoscopic HD projection on a 16ft x 9ft surface is supported by a 2-projector passive Infitec system. Active or passive signals can be accommodated.
